Through the storm

Just spent a wonderful bank holiday weekend and a couple of days off with family. It’s so great to spend time together! And it’s been such quality time with them, Sally in particular.  Just humble stuff around the house etc. Only downside is I have had the ‘black dog’ snapping each day – very distressing.

Today back at work and surviving one minute at a time. Questioning, trusting, pleading, growing.  Have you felt like this? Progress is two steps forward and one and a half back!  But God is still in control and all he asks is for us to trust him. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure“. – I can’t deny that having a star-maker on your side is a pretty safe place and he will heal.

See! The Lord promises a present deliverance. “Now will I break his yoke from off thee.” Believe for immediate freedom, and according to thy faith so shall it be unto thee at this very hour. When God saith “now,” let no man say “tomorrow.”

Are you fighting with the adversary to-day? Are Satan, the world, and the flesh, all against you? Be not discouraged nor dismayed. Fight on! For God Himself is with you… Fear not, you shall overcome, for who can defeat Omnipotence? Fight on, “looking unto Jesus”; and though long and stern be the conflict, sweet will be the victory, and glorious the promised reward:

“From strength to strength go on;
Wrestle, and fight, and pray,
Tread all the powers of darkness down,
And win the well-fought day.
